I have a sore throat since Monday. I thought that it was because of the burger and fries I ate the day before when I went out with friends to eat at Blooies. I drank more water and slept more but nothing changed. I still had a sore throat. I was coughing a little but I didn’t have fever or a runny nose. The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was to drink some barley juice and then I went to the bathroom. I puked and it was orange in color. Ewwwwwwwwwwww. (Barley juice is not orange in color.)
I went back to my room and coughed up phlegm. It’s the first and the only one that I have coughed up since Monday. It looked like a mixture of red and yellow. hmm.. Orange color? Yuck.
It was thicker than normal phlegm. D and Liz told me to go see a doctor. I took a photo of the phlegm which was still on a piece of tissue paper. I’m not going to post the photo because it is so gross.
I was trying to describe the phlegm to the doctor but then I asked her “Can I show you a photo of my phlegm?” She laughed. I showed her the photo and she told me that there was blood in it. Well, that explains the color.
Anyway it turns out to be some kind of upper respiratory tract infection and I went back home with a syrup, two types of pills, some antibiotics and $28 lighter. The medicine made me very drowsy and I slept till 9 p.m.

Out of these 4, the disgusting syrup is probably what I like the most. I hate pills. I hate capsules.

D and I were chatting and I asked him to bring my little Sushi in front of the laptop. I wanted to see her.
Sushi wasn’t looking at the webcam when I made the screen capture. >.< She was busy looking at D. Well she cannot really see me anyway. Dogs do not interpret the images on the screen the same way as we do.
My little baby has grown up. ♥♥
I miss her so much
:weeping:
She will be 2 in a few months.
(She’s looking a bit yellow here because of the dim light. -_- )

>>A short note about MSN and email <<
I'm online at really odd hours nowadays. I wake up when others are going to bed. Don't be surprised if you don't see me online. I have 2 MSN accounts but I'd rather not add friends to both accounts. Come to think of it, I’m not really into chatting nowadays and usually just go on MSN to chat with my sisters about business matters.
Friends who know me in person can catch me on facebook.
I’ve just noticed that some mails sent to me via the contact form went to my spam folder. I hope that I didn’t delete any other emails by mistake. >.< If you’ve emailed me and didn’t get a reply, I’m really sorry about that.

Two mosquito bites and my arm is like this. I didn’t even scratch. :weeping: Last time, I got that on my left foot after I had dinner with Mike and Di at Bukit Timah. What’s wrong with the mosquitoes here? Why do they like me so much? I don’t know why that whole area became so red and warm to the touch. What’s wrong with me?
At least I didn’t get any bruises this week. I’m the type of person who gets bruises very easily. Every week when I see a new bruise, I ask myself how I got it. ah… *sigh*

I love KFC’s cheese fries.
I try to avoid eating fast food but I eat KFC’s Cheese fries about 4 times a month. I think it’s good to give in to my cravings sometimes.

A couple of months ago, I learned that my sister got a Watsons membership card for 10 yuan when she went on a trip to mainland China. I remember telling her “oh, We have Watsons in Singapore but no Watsons Card.” Well we do now. Watsons Singapore finally launched their card. It costs SGD 5 which is about 25 yuan. =_= (SGD5 is about MRU Rs125 ?)

I got my card yesterday. I often buy things at Watsons and since it is possible to earn points to redeem as cash rebates with the Watsons card , it seems like a good deal to me. I also got 29 vouchers(valid till 31 Dec 2009) in my Welcome Pack.

Most of the vouchers are to be used at Watsons but I’ve seen a few which are for KFC,The Nail Spa & Wellness, Spectacle hut etc. The voucher I’m most tempted to use is the Spectacle Hut voucher: a voucher for a free eye check and SGD40 off the purchase of a pair of spectacles which costs at least SGD 100. Even if I rarely wear my glasses when I go out, I think it’s high time for me to buy a new pair.
note : The Watsons Singapore card has to be activated online.

I had lunch with Nicolas, one of my primary school best friends about 3 hrs ago. We went to eat at the Coffee Club right outside Raffles Place MRT station. The last time I saw Nicolas was 6 or 7 years ago. I didn’t see him for a couple of years after we finished primary school but we met up again one day thanks to a mutual friend. He is one of the few primary school ex-classmates that I still keep in touch with.
I was thinking about this the other day: I’m still not sure if Singapore is where I should be. I still don’t feel like this is ‘home’ but at least, here I’ve been able to meet up with my good friends again. I have 3 other close friends in Singapore. I’ve met them at different stages of my life and they have been very good friends. A few years ago, I didn’t think that I’d see again after they/I left Mauritius. Now somehow I’ve landed in Singapore and they happen to be working/studying here. I’m really happy.
Back to food…
Soup of the day was Leek and potato soup. It was good. :flowers: I had just finished my soup when I suddenly remembered that I had my camera in my bag.

Mushroom and Parmesan baked rice. I could smell the parmesan as soon as the waiter put the dish down on the table.

Mango peach smoothie
Nicolas had the Honky Tonk Gumbo Set meal. (Weird name!) I didn’t take a photo of his Lychee soda with vanilla ice cream but here’s what his food looked like. (90% of it anyway)
He had already started eating when I took this photo.

We only had one hour to eat and talk but it was good to see him again.
We’ve known each other since 1990. That was so long ago.
I can’t help feeling a bit old. I miss my carefree childhood days.
The food was good & we got to talk for a while after not seeing each other for so many years. Sounds nice right? The only thing I’m sad about is that I forgot to ask one of the waiters to take our photo. As usual I took photos of food and forgot about taking photos of people.
Argh. I’ll try not to forget next time.

Lisa’s friend Jeff came over for dinner last night and Lisa bought Chilli crab, Black pepper crab and some other dishes.

Chilli crab is very popular in Singapore. I’ve heard of this dish even before coming to Singapore.
Audrey and Colas both like the black pepper crab but I didn’t like it much. I preferred the Chilli crab.

This seems to be fried mantou. Mantou are Chinese steamed buns with no fillings.
We dipped the mantou in the chilli crab sauce before eating. yummy!

As mentioned before, I went on a trip to Hong Kong and mainland China with my youngest sis for ten days.
I was too busy to take photos during my trip. The only photos I took with my camera were on the plane and on the train.
On the plane to Hong Kong:

I didn’t have time to eat at home and had to buy the food on the plane. Jetstar is a budget airline. The plane tickets are cheap but meals aren’t included and have to be bought during the flight. I chose the Hainanese Chicken Rice meal. It was expensive and didn’t taste nice. >.< Next time, I will eat at home or even at the airport.

After I finished eating, I put on the N95 mask that Lisa got for me. Almost everyone was wearing a mask. Mine looked a tad funny but that’s all I had. I found it a bit hard to breathe when wearing the mask. I also had to fill in a health declaration form on the plane. Seeing so many people wearing masks on the plane made me worry a bit.
