August 17th, 2009Webcam session

dog, photos @ 2:30 am

D and I were chatting and I asked him to bring my little Sushi in front of the laptop. I wanted to see her.
Sushi wasn’t looking at the webcam when I made the screen capture. >.< She was busy looking at D. Well she cannot really see me anyway. Dogs do not interpret the images on the screen the same way as we do.

My little baby has grown up. ♥♥
I miss her so much :( :weeping:
She will be 2 in a few months.

(She’s looking a bit yellow here because of the dim light. -_- )

>>A short note about MSN and email <<
I'm online at really odd hours nowadays. I wake up when others are going to bed. Don't be surprised if you don't see me online. I have 2 MSN accounts but I'd rather not add friends to both accounts. Come to think of it, I’m not really into chatting nowadays and usually just go on MSN to chat with my sisters about business matters.
Friends who know me in person can catch me on facebook.
I’ve just noticed that some mails sent to me via the contact form went to my spam folder. I hope that I didn’t delete any other emails by mistake. >.< If you’ve emailed me and didn’t get a reply, I’m really sorry about that.

Sushi sleeps in this position most of the time..

..but sometimes she sleeps in this position too.

At first I thought that she wanted me to rub her stomach so I rubbed her stomach for a while. I went back to my computer and she was still like that. Eventually, she drifted off to sleep.

November 3rd, 2008Happy Birthday Sushi!

dog, photos @ 11:52 pm

Sushi is one year old now. :D 3rd of November is not her actual birth date but since we don’t know when it is supposed to be, I chose this date for her. We bought her during the last week of October last year and she had to undergo a one week treatment. I still remember how Keisuke, Aki, Desmond and I took turns to go to the vet with her and we stayed there for hours each time. By the beginning of November, she was still a tiny dog weighing around one pound but at least she was no longer sick. After one year, she is now about 7kgs but being a small breed dog, I suppose that she won’t be getting any bigger.

★One year ago★
When she was around one month old :
Keisuke was going to play soccer with the other Japanese guys and Aki suggested that we take Sushi along. Someone said that Sushi looked more like a cat because she was so small. The Japanese girls were all exclaiming how small and cute Sushi was. It’s probably the only time I’ve ever heard so many kawaii in one day. :faint:

It was almost winter and the weather was already quite cold at that time. We were all wearing jackets. We saw people walking their dogs and the small dogs all wore clothes so we bought this blue puppy outfit for her. It was slightly too big for her and Desmond had to roll up the bottom. She outgrew it one month later.

★Now…★
This photo was taken in early September when I came back from my trip to Singapore. We had to keep her at the pet shop for almost a month. She had lost some weight & her fur was no longer as beautiful as it used to be. The loss of fur might also be because of the heat. It was so hot in August and September. I saw many people walking their dogs during summer and they had shaved off the dogs’ fur.

Sushi lost even more fur in September and we had to clean after her everyday but now she is finally no longer losing fur. I can’t help smiling when I look at her ‘baby’ pics. She looked so different back then, so tiny and so cute. Now she is all grown up.

I took this photo of her just now:

She was playing with a piece from an old sweater of mine. I cut it out for her 2 weeks ago.

I’ve been taking many photos of her lately because this is my last month in Shanghai.

Shanghai, dog, food, photos @ 7:05 pm

This winter , it has snowed several times already but it was too little to be worth mentioning. However, yesterday’s snow was quite heavy for Shanghai. I say that it’s quite heavy snow for Shanghai because it doesn’t snow much here in winter. The only other time I experienced such snow here in Shanghai was on Dec. 30th and 31st 2004. (Old post & pics about it here) Yesterday’s snow was heavier. Perhaps it felt that way because I was outside in the snow longer than in 2004. :P
I went to meet some of my Mauritian friends at 2 p.m to go to Hong Kong plaza and despite carrying an umbrella, my jeans, boots and bag were all covered with snow because of the wind. Being from a country where winter is around 15 °C and hence never snows, we were all happy that it was snowing. The only problem is that in Shanghai, the snow melts too quickly, which is probably why I’m down with a cold now. My clothes got a bit wet yesterday.
Two pics that I took yesterday:

It is snowing!

The snow stopped after a few hours yesterday but it snowed again early this morning. I didn’t go out this morning but Desmond, who went to drop off a French guy at the Hongkou stadium at 5:30 a.m came back and showed me the snowball that he made. He also told me that the road was very slippery. The taxi driver wasn’t happy at all.

He could have made a much bigger one but he wanted to go back inside the building asap.

Sushi was fascinated by the snowball. She was a bit scared of it at first but once it started melting a bit (or rather,a lot. The ball became much smaller by the time Sushi was willing to get near it.), she started licking the ball but stopped once the cold got to her.
Sushi's first time seeing a snowball

She pounced on the ball and then ran away from the ball. She did that a few times before we finally threw away the ball.

It has been quite cold today. It doesn’t feel cold when it snows but after the snow, when the snow starts to melt or has finished melting, it feels very cold. I looked out of the window just now. All the snow has melted already and the ground is wet. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr ………… It feels very cold. Now I’m trying to decide whether to brave the cold, go out to have dinner or stay home and cook noodles or something. I’m definitely not a winter person. (unless if it’s the winter in Mauritius!! hehe) According to weather.com, right now ” it is 1°C but it feels like -3°C ” . It doesn’t sound like much to people who are from countries where winter is below 0 °C but for me, it’s COLD.

-edited to add the following-
I didn’t go out so dinner was noodles indeed. :P
Looks good huh? :D It tasted great! Prepared by…… Desmond. Yeah, not me. Those who know me personally won’t find it surprising. :P
Noodles!By Desmond

BUT…. I fried the fish! :D
It didn’t look appetizing at first so I used the leftover lamb curry (cooked by Desmond yesterday) to pour on the fried fish. Hence, the fish tasted like lamb but it was still good. :P
ta daaaa!

December 8th, 2007Sleeping puppy

Me, dog, photos @ 5:41 pm

I’m sitting in bed right now, using the laptop. After being in this position for one hour, my legs are a bit numb but I’m trying my best not to move because Sushi fell asleep in my lap. Sushi was whimpering earlier, pawing at the bed, obviously wanting to get on the bed too. Minutes later, she’s sitting in my lap. :faint:
She managed to get on the bed by herself. She fell alseep not long after. I probably shouldn’t let her do this but it’s quite cold today. My lap is warmer than her own little ‘bed’.

I used to be so scared of dogs. I think it’s because I once saw someone get bitten by a dog back in my childhood days.
When Desmond and I go out and he sees someone with a dog, he’ll go nearer and even try to pet the dog. He loves dogs. As for me, I stand a few meters away. Well, that was what I did before Sushi came into my life.
Now, I stand next to Desmond while he pets other dogs but I don’t pet them. I’m not ready for that yet.

November 18th, 2007My little darling

Shanghai, dog, photos @ 3:42 pm

I’m still waiting for my friends to mail me the pics taken during the school trip. Meanwhile, let me introduce my little darling to everyone.
with her pink blanket
She is Sushi (or Susie, according to Aki but I don’t like the name Susie much), my puppy since almost a month now. Well, she’s not really only mine. She also belongs to my friends. We bought her together. We aren’t sure how old she is but according to the vet, she is around 2 months old now. As for her name ,Sushi, it took us a long time to decide on it. She almost became ‘Oreo’. We might change her name again because she seems to respond more when called Oie or Baka (my Jap friends call her like that sometimes because she does stupid things). :| Erm… we’ll see.
