I just didn’t know what to write as the title of this blog entry. haha. It has been a while since my last blog entry and I even forgot my password. It took me a while to remember the password. I’ve been telling Lisa that I’ll be blogging soon but weeks later, I still haven’t written anything. Today, I am ‘free’ for a few hours and I might as well start writing once again.

If you are wondering about the title of this blog entry, it is kinda true. I got stuck in the bathroom for one hour this morning. I had pressed the lock on the door knob and by the time I wanted to leave the bathroom, I was stuck. There was something wrong with the door knob. I pounded on the door and Annick heard me. She went to get Colas who tried to open the door from outside but couldn’t. In the end, Colas had to call a locksmith who came about half an hour later. It took him a while to remove the door knob.

If Annick and Colas weren’t at home, i would have been stuck in the bathroom all day.

When I was stuck in the bathroom, Annick helped me phone my supervisor to explain the situation and I had to take a half-day urgent leave. Urgent leave = leave without pay. >.< Now I have about 2 hours left with nothing to do before work.

I have so many photos and so many things to blog about and I don’t know where to start. >.<
I have to admit that I have thought of deleting everything and closing this blog down but each time I go through my blog archives, I just cannot do it.
For the time being, I am BACK.

I hate it when people say ‘What the f*ck’ out loud. It really gets to me.
‘What the f*ck’ is annoying enough. Please don’t say ‘F*ck f*ck f*ck’.
I heard you just fine. There’s no need to say it 3 times in a row.
A small tip: Saying ‘What the…’ and letting it trail off has more or less the same effect. Or you can say ‘What the heck’ or ‘What the hell’. You don’t even need to say that stupid f word.

I went to school today only to see a new notice on the noticeboard. 2 weeks ago, there was a notice announcing that the Chinese New Year school break would be from the 24th to the 27th but the new notice that I saw today said that the break ends on the 30th January instead. Arghhhhhhhhh. When did they put up this new notice? I went to school for nothing.

I’ve had a busy but quite enjoyable month. I have no class tomorrow and I can finally write about what I’ve been up to. I’ll resize the photos later but first, I need to take a nap. The bf is probably still out.

We had planned to meet for lunch and I was already on my way. I walked from school to Geyland Road to take the bus which goes to Choa Chu Kang. I’ve heard of Geyland Road (the red-light district here) before but today was my first time walking in that area. I hated it. There were many women dressed in skimpy clothes standing here and there, scanning their surroundings for a potential client. I was so glad when the bus arrived. 33 bus stops . That’s the number of stops (according to the Bus guide which I always carry with me..) the bus went past before the bf phoned me to ask where I was. I could immediately tell from his tone of voice that he was feeling a bit paisei. He said that he cannot meet me for lunch after all. He was going to meet his friend instead. He said that he told his friend that I was on the way already but she said that it won’t be very convenient with me around. According to my bf, his friend seems to be having some relationship problems and wanted to confide in him. (Can’t do that over the phone meh?) Something like that anyway… Yes. She. I’ve met her once 6 months ago when I came to Singapore. She seems to be a nice person. I told him to go ahead. Now I’m at home already and enjoying a cold drink while chatting on msn. I told someone what just happened and she reckons that I was too nice.

To the bf,
I’m not going to let this ruin my day and I’m not even angry in the first place. Let’s just say that I ‘understand’ …somehow… but don’t you dare take that for granted. You tend to take many things for granted. If it was the other way round, i.e, you in my place, you’d be angry already. Friend or not, you cancelled our lunch plan to meet some other girl. I was already on my way. Just imagine how you’d feel if I did that to you. You should be glad that I hadn’t reached our meeting place when you phoned because then, I would be angry.

Nap time now.

Lately, I’ve been sleeping in the afternoon and then I wake up at night to start writing until it’s time to get ready to go to class. It’s too noisy during the day. Right now, it’s almost 4 a.m and even if I’m tired, it feels good working when it’s so quiet. There’s one week left until thesis submission deadline (which can be extended a couple more days apparently but I’m not counting on it) and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to make it. People who know me keep telling me that I can do it but lately, I’ve been losing faith in myself. Argh.
Back to my thesis now…and my book. I have an exam in a couple of hours.

Right now, the most important thing to me is probably my thesis. The deadline for the submission of the first draft is on the 20th. I’ll be barely sleeping this week. Argh
I almost freaked out yesterday (or was it the day before? The lack of sleep is getting to me. ) when I tried to switch on my computer (I have a desktop.) only to see a black screen. I tried again to no avail. I put off the power supply, remove the cables, plug them back and tried to switch on my computer again. This time the screen was black with a couple of weird colorful circles and words. According to the message on the screen, my computer hard disk wasn’t being detected. I panicked. It’s been almost 4 years since I have this computer and I didn’t have any major problems with it.
I was like.. Please don’t die on me now. Come on. A couple more months. Let me finish my thesis. I don’t have a backup. Please.
In my panicked state, I phoned Desmond and told him to come over. Meanwhile, I opened the casing and the amount of dust inside made me sneeze. Atchoum. Let’s see. The last time I opened the casing was 2 years ago when I connected a friend’s hard disk to mine.
hmm . Maybe it’s the dust which is causing this problem, I told myself.
I started cleaning but it took me a long time because I couldn’t find my computer brush. By the time Desmond came over, I was only 1/3 done. He helped me with the rest by.. using my hairdryer ! (using the cold air option of course) I didn’t think of doing that. :faint:
It seems that the problem was really because of all the dust because after cleaning, my computer was running normally once again. The first thing I did after that was to backup my works on my external hard disk. I told Desmond that I’ll probably kill myself if I lost the content of my hard disk. I exaggerated of course. I won’t kill myself over such a matter but I’ll get really depressed. :worried: Among the material things important to me, my computer (or rather, the hard disk and its content) is in the top 5. hehe.
As soon as I have some free time, I’ll start doing a backup of my current hard disk. Hmm maybe I should do 2 backups.

I’m asking because I’ve seen people write it both ways. Google. You’ll see.

I’ve been thinking this since last year; I should get a new camera!
I have been using my Canon IXUS 400 since a few years now. Since last year, I’ve had a few problems but mostly card problems so I just got a new card.
Lately, my camera has been very slow. Is it because of the cold? It’s been so cold and rainy lately. After I press the power button, it takes around 30 seconds for anything to happen.
Today, I wanted to transfer the pics taken during the last few days and I realize that all pics taken during the last two months have disappeared from my camera card.

The title is self-explanatory.

Why?
Because..
My wisdom teeth are growing(finally!) and I’m in pain. Somehow, my ears also hurt.
I have to clear my external hardrive of all the things in it. I’ll probably need around 25 dvds for that and it will take me a few days to finish burning the dvds.
I have to start planning my summer holidays. To go to SG & Malaysia or not? I don’t like the idea of having to travel from Shanghai to Singapore all alone.
And many other things which seem unimportant to other people but which are giving me a headache right now… I’m particularly moody at this time of the month.

Note: I originally wrote ‘No updates for two weeks’ yesterday but I changed the title this morning. 2 weeks sounds like too much. Still, life has seemed pretty boring recently and I don’t have much to write about.
