May 3rd, 2009Barbecue party during the day
Lately, I’ve been taking many photos and also getting photos from friends. Now I have too many things to blog about. (I’ve already uploaded some photos on facebook.)
==============
My cousin Kersley wanted to have a barbecue party on the day he was leaving Singapore. His flight was in the evening and therefore we could only have the barbecue during the day under the scorching sun. I wanted to tan but I felt like my skin was burning. It is really too hot in Singapore sometimes. ![]()

The guys: Adrian, Kers and Bryan.

Kersley’s thumb got a small cut somehow. Fortunately I had adhesive plasters with me.

The food was good.

Bryan, me,Oni and Diana.
Something I’ve just learned…
A friend who has lived in Australia for a few years called barbecue ‘barbie’ .. I was like ‘huh?What barbie are you talking about?’ It turns out that barbie is slang for barbecue. :faint:

What’s on the grill among chicken and sausages? Baby squid?
We usually have bbq during evenings but last christmas I remember we had a bbq during the day. It was damn so hot, with the sun and the heat from the grill! LaSh and my brother were doing the cooking mostly and they were soaked in sweat. :faint:
Yeah, some of us here do call it “barbie”. We have a bit of a habit of shortening names of things here.
Here’s a page of Australian slang words:

I tend to like barbecues during the day, cause most of those I have attended were during the day.
The food looks lovely!!
It’s definitely very warm lately.
I haven’t had bbq gathering like yours for over a year! We bought a small electric bbq but haven’t used it yet and it definitely won’t taste like the charcoal bbq!
you seemed to be having a very good time in singapore aline! i am still in shanghai.
