January 2nd, 2007Yummy vegetarian pasta
I went to Emart supermarket the other day and saw packets of Barilla pasta. I put a few packets of macaroni in the trolley as well as what I thought to be two packets of spaghetti. Des cooked today and it turns out that I had bought bavette instead of spaghetti. arghh. How careless of me!
Bavette is similar to tagliatelle but is narrower.
ta daaa! Photo of the vegetarian pasta that Des cooked:

I love seeing Des in the kitchen, chopping up the vegetables. He’s fast. I must work on my chopping skills.
I got yelled at by Des in the past because I don’t hold the knife and position my hand like it should be done. I don’t remember if it was that time of the month or not but that day, I felt ‘bullied’ and even cried. lol
It takes a long time to change old habits. I always cut vegetables slowly because I’m scared of cutting my fingers by mistake. Apparently, there’s a way to hold the knife and position the fingers so as to prevent the fingers from getting cut and still be able to cut vegetables quickly. Des taught me already but I just can’t do it. I’m such a bad student. ![]()

hi i’m laure marday i used 2 live in beaubassin in mauritius.but my family still...
See, you worried too much.

O M G !
This looks GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
I ate weird veggie-meat last week. It was… interesting. Not bad though.
aline, I am Chinese, I mean, I speak Mandarin, which perhaps, just perhaps makes it easier for me to find part-time jobs. I teach junior and senior high students Mathematics, Chemistry and English. Besides, there are a lot of other jobs, like selling cellphones or washmachines…in shopping malls here in Shenyang, esp during holidays.
Yes, maybe it’s dangerous to sleep out there, but I don’t think thieves like me; I had nothing but a banana in my bag at the time, hehehe, so I wasn’t really afraid and slept well…
Oh, as for chopping things–I like it! I once chopped patatoes and made a dish for my younder sister and she was stunned! I’d never had a kitchen knife in my hand before but I chopped pretty well… my mom is a good cook, so I guess I just have some cook genes in my body, hehehe…
Yeah, the food looks yummy:)
The pasta looks yummy! And I chop my produce real slow because I’m afraid to cut myself…even though I’m holding the knife right.
Happy New Year! All the best for 07!
I just think that practice makes perfect. It can be a failure at first but with time, you’ll be able to do it well(all the cooking and cutting things). Dont be afraid of all these yellings that u get with Desmond. So, 加油!!!I would like to eat or taste the food u cook one day:P:P haha
That pasta looks really yummy.
Can see that Des is an excellent cook.
Meanwhile, I ain’t much of a cook myself. Disasters always happen whenever I am in the kitchen, and the food prepared usually ends up being inedible anyway. ;) Heh.
Anyhoo, Happy New Year to you too!
Note to self: Don’t read Aline’s blog when it’s nearing lunch time, but when we’re not quite there yet. I’m starving!
Hey Aline!
Happy New Year to you too! I didn’t know you’ve come back to the blogosphere after I’ve read that you’ve paused on blogging, but it’s great to see you back!
Your pasta looks yummy, I like Bavette too, tagiatelle seems a bit too thick for me:P
anyway, don’t worry about your chopping skills, it’ll come with time:)
Happy new year to you…
hehe
I hope so. It’s so frustrating not being able to do it right.
it does look yummy indeed…what’s the recipe, if i may ask?
