It seems like we are reaching the end of winter. It was a sunny day yesterday!:D It was around 17° C yesterday morning. I was even able to go out in a skirt and turtleneck sweater instead of the usual jeans, sweater, scarf and long coat. The temperature dropped to around 10° C at night but it was still okay because I had brought a light jacket with me. However,it’s a bit rainy today and cold(9° C right now). I read on weather.com that it will still rain tomorrow :( Noooooooooo. :confusion:

I went out with some friends yesterday and while in the bus, I kept staring outside until a sentence (from radio program) caught my attention : “…相爱的人在一起,每天都是情人节…” .
Sure, if people who love each other are together, everyday can be like Valentine’s Day. Why do we need to have a special day in the year for love? Maybe it’s because some people don’t have much time (work,studies,etc..) to celebrate, to show their special someone how much they love them? It might be the only day during which some couples celebrate their love. For some people, Valentine’s Day is the only day their boyfriends or husbands remember to give them flowers, sweet cards, etc. :confusion: I think that Valentine’s Day is over commercialized. Prices for roses and chocolates go up. Since a few weeks now, chocolates in heart-shaped boxes, flowers and big red hearts have made their way into many stores.
Personally, I find it no big deal whether I celebrate Valentine’s Day or not. Just being with my special someone is enough. I prefer romance to be spontaneous and not planned. I don’t want my bf to give me presents only because it’s Valentine’s Day. Some guys don’t understand it but it’s the little things they do which count.

My photos of the day:

Man selling flowers

People buying flowers

I had walked a few more metres, turned around and snapped a few pics at random. Now I realize that it’s the same couple as in the previous pic.
look so happy

Flowers everywhere…
flowers everywhere

flowers everywhere />
By the end of the day, I was a bit sick of seeing flowers everywhere.

Commercialized or not we (men) usually feel obligated to get our special someone something on Valentine’s day. At least give a card and make sure you actually write something in it. Giving a card with just a signature in it is likely to get your in trouble.

I agree that everyday can be like Valentine’s Day. It can be tough to remember to do or say something nice, but if you put in the effort the rewards are always worth it. :cloud9: There is nothing better than a happy wife/girlfriend/etc.

Yes… This is why I have been boycoting Valentines Day by remaining single for 36 years… It seems to work.

What Shaun wrote was right too. Plus some girls do expect something…
Although, yes, everyday should be Valentine.

Well, everyday can be valentines day when we are with our loved one but it’s not everyday that we can be together with them so the celebration might be a precious moment for some people :)

girls also give guys gifts on Valentine’s Day. Shopping for gifts for guys is so difficult. Gals are more easily pleased I suppose.

I guess since Valentines Day is so commercialised, some girls expect something. This Valentines day, I wasn’t in the mood to celebrate actually and I don’t like it very much when I’m obligated to do something just because society says it’s the day to do it. I think I prefer my freedom to celebrate something because I want to rather than have to.

Things like flowers, restaurants etc will raise the prices for their service just like salons and pet salons days b4 CNY. To be honest, I find that irritating. Tho it’s still within budget but I’m paying more for the same service just because the celebrations.

I’m inspired actually by what you wrote about it’s the little things that count. I guess that thought has somehow been pushed away and kept somewhere in my head and resurfaced only after reading that line.
