This entry is almost one month late but *shrugs* … As they say, better late than never.
We had dinner at Istanbul Restaurant( address: 900 Huaihai Zhong Lu near Parkson Dept Store, Tel: 6467 6666. I think it’s buffet on Saturdays @ RMB 100 including 2 drinks ) and then went to see the countdown at Xin tian di. :flowers:
At Istanbul Restaurant:

We all ate till we were very full. I loved the rice pudding.

Some dancers performed. One of them invited Jiachong (my classmate) to dance with her.

Photo of everyone right outside the restaurant.
me and my V sign.. Ever since we came to China, my friends and I pose for pics like that… Must stop doing that. :faint: Jia chong was trying to look like a reindeer with his brown gloves on his head.
We walked slowly till we reached Xin tian di. Just in time for the countdown. ![]()

Hugs and Happy New Year wishes all around … (well at least in our group)
We left Xin tian di and saw these on the streets:

Some guy was selling them. I was like “ohhhhhhhhhhh cute” and kinda hoping someone bought one of these for me but I guess that he didn’t get the hint.
I could have bought it myself but well, it’s not the same …. ( if you know what i mean. )
We couldn’t get a cab near Xin tian di so we walked all the way to People’s Square, hoping to catch the 123 bus but unfortunately, there were no more 123 buses at that time, only those special buses and white vans.
Here’s a photo of people trying to get on the bus which was already very full… Crazy…

It’s like that sometimes, especially at night. I remember taking the bus when it was China’s National Day and I could barely breathe on the bus. People trod on my feet, bumped into me and I was squashed in between two gals whose bags poked into my hips. Ouchh. Definitely not a nice experience.
We decided to try to get a cab instead and walked till the highway. It took a while but we finally flagged down two cabs. Jia chong had to wrench open the door of one of the cabs because the taxi driver didn’t want to stop and let us in.

Aline, you should really stop posting these delicious food pictures. Everytime I visit your site I get so hungry that I can eat a cow, and I drool all over my keyboard. It’s all your fault! Hahahaha…

OMG!! The fireworks was beautiful. It was more beautiful then the ones we had in Singapore
I’m sure you had a great time. Those stuff toys were adorable, I would have grab everything if I was there
That sure looks like fun

Woahh…those fireworks sure look prety.
We had fireworks in Singapore during the New Year too.
Somehow, I just have a huge fetish for fireworks, so I went all the way down to the actual site to watch.
Like you, I love to pose with the “Peace” sign. It’s become a habit already.
