Some updates about my birthday and the day after.
I did some window-shopping near Fuzhou road and People’s Square. We went to Raffles City and I managed to take only one pic before one of the security persons working there approached and told me that we were not allowed to take pics in the building. So strange.. It’s only a mall. I went there a few times before and also took pics. bah.. *shrugs*

One day after my birthday, I went to Chang bai shan, a Korean restaurant at Wuchuan lu to meet the other Mauritians. There are three new Mauritian students in Shanghai. I already met them once when I went to China Cultural Centre in Mauritius to meet the new scholarship students 2005. The three guys are all studying medicine.

Rosemary and I reached the restaurant quite late. The others were there already. We told the waitress that we already reserved a dinner room and the waitress was like “oh, it’s for the birthday right? ” I suppose she didn’t realise it was supposed to be a surprise. Still, I thought that it was just going to be dinner but my friends surprised me with a birthday cake + song after dinner. We also got some fruits with Happy Birthday written on them (in chinese) , courtesy of the restaurant.

Varun, JP, Rosemary, Richard and I went to Guandi Club at Fuxing Park after dinner. We met up with Michael and his gf there. Guandi is a nice place. I like it there but it’s a bit expensive. I had fun but I think I danced too much . My legs ached for a few days afterwards and going up & down the stairs was painful. Richard is talking about going there again tonight. I’ve just ‘recovered’. hmm… We’ll see.
thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. :)
Also, thanks to Jay for the Blog of the Month for September. wohooo. A nice birthday gift.
