This mountain seems to be quite popular among us, Mauritian bloggers.
James and Carine both have blog entries and pics concerning this particular mountain. They both live(or used to.. ) near the mountain.

I used to live quite near that mountain, around 5 mins from the foot of the mountain, near the Harbour View apartments.

In 2003 and early 2004 , I used to go to Mt des Signaux almost every Sunday or on Saturdays too after a long day at LAN cyber cafĂ©. My LAN pals used to go with me. Sometimes, I managed to convince other friends too. So many memories there… My friends tried rollerblading up there and well, going up was okay but going down… too dangerous too attempt. At that time, I was like ‘one of the guys’, always wearing jeans, often the only gal in that group of guys; my ‘bodyguards’. hehe
I liked to go up there to think. I always felt better afterwards.
Then I moved to my other house and stopped going. It sure felt great going there again.

According to virtual tourist ,

The mountain “des Signaux”was named thus because it was once the watchtower assigned to announce the arrival of the boats (of which La Malle Française – the French Trunk – the maritime carrying trade ship). Tradition preserved, since the summit of this mountain is filled with the antennas of communications of the telephone company and with facilities of radars.

What Port Louis (city, northwestern Mauritius, capital of the country.. More info about Port Louis here) looks like from Mt des Signaux :

One last pic. My bro doesn’t look 1m80 in this pic. I guess it’s because he was sitting and leaning forward. *maybe i will tease him about it* I always get teased at home for being slightly shorter than my little sisters. (I’m 1m63.) Sometimes my yongest sis, Cel, pats me on the head, like I’m her little sis.
