I’ve been going out almost everyday, meeting friends here and there. Took many pics too. I’ll try to upload some of them.

Terence and me at Caudan Waterfront
My first and maybe only pic of Ter wearing a tie. We went to see him during lunch time. He works in the IBL building.

What I’ve been up to so far:
beach
went to the beach twice to tan a bit. No swimming because I simply can’t swim.

cinema
I went to Caudan to watch Star Wars yesterday. I already watched it on DVD in Shanghai (it was in English but with bad English subtitles) but my friends wanted to go watch so I went along. This time it was in French. Come to think of it, all movies I watch at the cinemas in Mauritius are in French. Harry Potter, Titanic, etc… I only started watching English movies when I went to Shanghai. It felt weird at first but I’m used to it now.

ice skating
there’s an ice skating rink in Mauritus now. I think it opened last year after I left MU. It’s artificial ice though. ah well.. I went ice skating once only. I didn’t fall but still, I need loads of practice. I thought that it’d be like rollerblading but it’s much more difficult. Ladies, don’t wear a skirt when going ice skating. Not a pretty sight when you fall. I wore jeans but one of my friends wore a skirt. err…
At least people can go ice skating now. The only two bowling arenas in Mauritius are closed now … I used to hang out a lot at Windsor bowling arena. ahh i miss that place.

lunch/ dinner with friends
most of my friends want to meet for lunch or dinner . I ate the new pizza at Pizza hut (Tandoori chicken i think it was), the new McArabia at McDonald, typical Chinese food, Indian food, dholl puris, roti pratas, Naans, Halim, ‘gato pima’, samousas, etc… Plus loads of homemade food. It’s a good thing my sisters like to cook.

stay at hotel
I’ve been to The Plantation Hotel (4 stars) with some friends. Had a lovely time there. I ran into a few probs with my camera so no pics. Hopefully, my friend will mail me some.

clubbing
‘Zenfan terrib’ and Arena… ‘Zenfan terrib’ ti vraimem terrib sa (sentence is in creole)
I didn’t enjoy myself there. The music was terrible and few people were dancing. Most of them were sitting ,talking and drinking. Arena was okay. It’s like a new craze; many people go to the Casino next to Arena before going to Arena itself. Try to win some money first? lol
My friends had some fun at the casino. We didn’t stay there long but they spent Rs200 and won nearly Rs2000. Not a lot but it was enough to pay all our entry tickets and drinks. hehe
I met so many old friends at Arena. ah.. makes me remember the old days.

I’m still terrible with faces… lol
Friend: Eta aline, ki dire? (Hey aline, what’s up/ how are you? )
Me: err… kisana toi? ( err… who are you?)
