We had a “family outing” yesterday. Dad didn’t go with us. He was tired from work.

We went to Richmond Hill right next to Super U (Grand Baie) first to get something to eat.
I let my siblings choose and in the end we bought 2 large pizzas (we got the half-half kind, hence 4 different types of pizzas) at Debonairs, 1 big burger at Steers and two cups of ice cream. 2 large pizzas= 16 slices We always divide food equally among us so we each got 4 slices of pizza. wahhhh 4 slices… I was already full by the time I finished my 2nd slice but my brother proceeded to eat his 3rd and 4th slice and my sisters followed. I had a very light breakfast that morning and no lunch. Promising myself that I won’t have dinner that night, I ate my 3rd and 4th slice too. I sure don’t regret doing that. The pizzas tasted great. I prefer Debonairs’ pizza to the pizza at Pizza Hut.

At the beach.. More pics…. click on the link below

After eating, we went to Pereybere Beach. It was quite late when we reached there so we stayed like 1 hr only . I love the feel of the sand under my feet. I thought that I’d want to go to the beach asap after getting back to Mauritius but I didn’t…because of the sun. :P I have become so used to walking around in Shanghai with an umbrella (who wouldn’t? with temperatures at 34->39 degress in summer), avoiding direct contact of my skin with the sun and hence returned to MU looking paler than I’ve ever been before. One of my sisters told me that she won’t walk next to me if I walk around in Port-Louis (capital of Mauritius) with an umbrella.
I’m slowly getting used again to the sunny weather here. My sisters keep telling me that I need go and tan until I get back to ‘normal’. (I used to be quite tanned.) My upper body isn’t so pale anymore after nearly 3 weeks here but my legs are still quite pale. I should stop wearing jeans all the time. Another new habit of mine.

There was this strange dog which I ‘thought’ was dead. It was lying on its back and didn’t move at all.

Coconut trees. I wanted to buy coconuts but the guy selling them was gone by the time we reached the beach.

Some people were building a sand castle while others were tanning. tanning at this hour?… lol

We stayed until sunset.

I was so tired when I got back home that I fell asleep at about 9pm. :???:
ah well.. no more food for me today except maybe a light dinner+ excercise. I made a bet/promise that I’ll lose the extra weight I put on in Shanghai( ah.. winter *shakes head*) by the time I return to Shanghai in September.
I will do it. I can do it.

The sunset looks lovely. Too bad we don’t get to see the sun setting on the horizon in Singapore because there are too many other islands nearby.

I love family outings. It’s the time when I can be myself, being a kid again. The beach is totally lovely. Wish such beaches exist in Malaysia. Sigh.

Enjoy yourself before you go back to Shanghai.

The Sushi bar next to Debonairs serves yummy sushi and maki (their wasabi is of medium power btw :) , moreover their warm sake is nice.

Such beautiful photos Aline, you’re making me ‘homesick’ for my second home, especially as I’m stuck in cold old Melbourne for the moment :weeping:

Actually I was wondering if your brother is still single so that he could do some of my lonely female friends a big favor. You should really think about that and ask him to come back to Shanghai with you! lol
And the last two sunset pictures are great!!
