May 21st, 2005Tongji University is 98 years old!

Tongji University’s 98th anniversary was on Friday 19th May. There was a concert that night on the football playground.
The concert was to celebrate the anniversary and also because there was a big batch of students graduating from Tongji.

I couldn’t switch on my camera at first. I don’t know why it was like that. So I just sat there and enjoyed the concert. It was only when the concert was ending that I could switch it on. Just in time to take pics of the last few fireworks. I haven’t been able to take pics of the nicest ones.

Seeing all those people perform on stage makes me miss high school a lot.
I miss performing on stage.
The last time I danced on stage was for the Prize Giving ceremony & concert at my friends’ school. Seems so far away now. ![]()

Hello !

Have a nice day !

I thought for a moment that was a boxing ring. Like the ones you see at Madison Square on tv. And taking good photos of fireworks without a tripod is pretty hard IMO. Hard to take good shots. The Chinese here in Shanghai love their fireworks a lot don’t they?
hehe yeah they love fireworks. My teacher said that in China you cannot set off fireworks or firecrackers at any time you want. Only on certain occasions . I’ve only seen firecrackers for sale around Chinese New Year.
You can dance and perform, that’s amazing. For my whole life, that is one of my dream. Hai, too bad lah i don’t even know how to play any instrument, and i can’t even dance.:flowers:
damn that’s a very old U
beware of the fireworks crashing into the roofs of the campus
What’s the matter with your camera?
Nice fireworks, looks like a blast over there! … over her our oldest Uni is 100 while mine is only 50yrs old
Really? I keep seeing people setting them off everywhere …
in China??they are not supposed to do so in the cities like Beijing or Shanghai.
Those fireworks look lovely. Normally, we seldom have events this grand for university anniversaries in Singapore. Yours seems interesting.
Wow, that all looks amazing. My university is over 160 years and we never celebrate our anniversary like yours does.
