James wanted to see some pics of food so here are some:

生煎(sheng jian)and 红豆莲子冰豆浆(hong dou lian zi bing dou jiang) which I had for breakfast at 新亚大包(xin ya da bao) during my first week in Shanghai.
Breakfast at Xin ya da bao
sheng jian are a bit like small 包子(bao zi, stuffed buns) except they are cooked in a different way. As you can see from the photo, the bottom of the shen jian are fried.

Dinner with almost all the Mauritian students in Shanghai. I forgot the name of the restaurant.

You can’t really see the food in this pic but the food was great.

I bought some chocolate cake last week. I loved the rich chocolate taste. yummy:laugh: I will buy more next time I go to Zhengming Road. Thinking about chocolate cake reminds me of the cake my little sister once baked. -sigh- Her cake looked great too!

Talking about food reminds me that I haven’t had dinner yet.
Dinner… then I’m going to hit the gym. I took on a few pounds (3 or 4) ever since I came here.
It’s just that the portions here are bigger than what I’m used to. Now, I’m back to my usual eating habits and hopefully going back to my normal weight in less than a month. I love food too much. I can’t and don’t want to lose more than those few extra pounds.
