I have to admit that the chinese characters on the book cover were what first caught my eye. In case you are wondering,you have to read them as ‘Nu hai chu sheng de shi hou’.It’s a really interesting book.

The story takes place in China(1987).
Back then,girls were considered ‘worthless’ and were burdens to their families.They were to be married off as soon as possible..
Some chapters made me cringe..feel sad..angry..
Reminds me of a discussion I had with a friend once.. and reminds me how I feel so worthless at home sometimes. (My parents are both from China. )
